This beautiful illustration in pen and ink surfaced at a Viennese antiques market in 2011. It depicts a woman seated in front of a Venetian vista, wearing clothes typical of the Art Deco age. The organic lines that frame the scene are uniquely Art Nouveau in style.
One ponders whether Béla knew this woman, or if he was familiar with this scene...

Was he perhaps at one time in Venice, or perhaps just dreaming of Venice?
Was she fictitious, or was she someone the artist loved?

The artist's autograph changed through the years.
Here it is signed in the lower right corner: Husserl Béla 1921.
